Weekend

2012-05-14 — Mitt liv

Since I moved to Sweden I have got obsessed with the weather forecast. I think that the weather app on my Iphone has been corrupted by the Swedish government, it always shows nice and sunny for the weekend when you check Thursday/Friday but then when you wake up Saturday morning what do you see when you pull up the curtain? Grey skye and RAIN!! I must check the weather on my phone again and now what does it show… partly cloudy and rain showers, but tomorrow Sunday big SUN…. Yeah right!! I guess they manipulate the forecast to keep the Swedish citizens mood up and help them not to fall in to some kind of grey, lack of sun depression. So what do you do a rainy cold Saturday in Malmö with three kids… You go to Malmö museum, yes;)

The kids loves all kind of museums but this is a really good one for small ones. They were super interested of the aquarium and I really enjoyed all the old school posters in the exhibition Uppåt väggarna . Tried explain to  Tiago how the posters were used in school and he was like, why didn´t they use the iPad instead?  I got the book Kryddor från Rosengård, nice initiative and some really good recipes!

Sunday was suposed to be sunny of corse but in the morning outside it was grey and COLD! Spoke to my friend from Italy and she was in bikini on the beach, I couldn’t tell her that i´m  still wearing my ugly warm uggboots!! One plus with this cold weather is that you get to wear your cashmere sweaters all year around;)

My friend Mia told me about Tirups Örtagård, thats where we spent our Sunday buying plants, got inspiration for our garden and the kids had a blast at the fantastic natural playground! We had lunch under this blooming apple tree, can it get more romantic than this??!

Just love the bed full of strawberries!!!  I will definitely steal this one;) and I have a perfect iron daybed in mind..

The car packed of plants and a head full of new garden ideas!! And by the way, I didn´t photoshop the photos… the sun eventually came out;))

A compromise

2012-05-13 — Mitt liv

It´s a lot of planning going on right now in our chaotic renovation life! Me and my husband both love to brainstorm, get new ideas and  decide for the decor of the house. But we don’t always have the same ideas about things, what furniture goes where, with which kind of floor and when it comes to colours lets not even talk about it! I´ll think we will hop on the “dip and dye” trend,

he want white, I want blue….

et voila… everybody is happy!!

Old bitch!

2012-05-11 — Renovering

When we bought our house last summer we could´t understand why nobody else were interested in getting it… now I understand why, a never ending project!!

*Roof leaking
*Needs some new windows and doors
*All pipes are rusty and needs to be changed
*Drainage around the house and basement
*New electricity
*New plumbing and water
*Take out the old gigantic oil tank
*Drill for new heating system
* Level up the upper floor (14cm difference from one corner to the other)
*Fix the outside frontage on the whole house
*New bathrooms and kitchen ext, ext ext……
I stop here because it´s a never ending list!!

The thought is that my old lady shall come back to her old glory and beauty so all the works have to be done slow and with lots of love and care.

My father is helping us to coordinate the renovation and now after three months of heavy full time job he gave my old lady a new nick name….. “the old bitch”

The house was built 1909 and from the outside and on the surface its so elegant and posh but under that surface!!!!!! They used all the rubbish they could find, stone and sand as excellent isolation;)

Now “the old bitch” is two tons lighter and hopfully better isolated.

The upper floor is one big lovely space, if i could keep it this way..

The sleeping loft for the kids is now isolated and ready to put back those old boards.

Our new lovely garden toilet;)

Friday afternoon, what are we going to do this weekend hmmmm let me think…

Fix that old bitch up!

Surprise me!

2012-05-10 — Mitt liv

A rainy afternoon with kids homework, bath and early dinner, now the little birds are sleeping. To see them all cuddled up in their little beds is magic and sometimes I really have to pinch my arm… I am a mother to three beautiful, healthy children!!!

Three amazing pregnancies, three incredible births of three different individuals,  I am a very lucky woman! Being a mother is probably the most important and most difficult thing you do in your life and I feel grateful doing it.

Mothers-day on Sunday and it brings memories from how we used to celebrate my mother, with breakfast in bed, home made gifts and flowers form the garden.

Right now i´m longing for a nice spring picnic so if the kids and dad want´s to surprise me with something special that is what they should keep in mind for Sunday!!

I´m starting doing the sun dance now so let´s keep our fingers crossed for blue skyes and nice and warm on Sunday!! All sources for the dreamy pics you find here!

Three more days to go

2012-05-09 — Mitt liv

So i´m in the middle of my Super charge, detox week and I’m feeling very light and airy! Doing Bikram every day and eating only Raw food together with a hole lot of “boosters” is really starting to feel good!

I joined my little boys school class today to visit a Reptilaruim and after we had picnic in the park. Milo ate only half of his tuna and egg roll and believe me I was VERY tempted to finish it off but i resisted!!

Now a big and nice cup of nettle infusion and off to bed!!
