A week just swishes by and tomorrow we are off, back home to cold Sweden and Easter celebrations! This is the perfect getaway for families with small kids, you want some sea and sun but you don’t want to travel to the other side of our planet. It´s nice and relaxing to go to restaurants but not with small tired kids! After a long day at the beach the little ones can have a early dinner and after 10 minuets of film they are out and we can have our grownup time with a glass of red on the terrazzo before we crash in bed as well! Not much glamour i’m afraid but very easy and cosy!
If someone want´s to rent our apartment here in Puerto Santiago don´t hesitate to contact me on my
Yesterday I went through my Canarian summer closet and it was a lot of fun! Found some old favourites and a hole bunch of boring white T-shirts with carrot pure stains and yellow armpits!!
You know that nice little summer dress that once was white but in the rush was washed with a black pari of socks… result, dirty gray white!!
Jeans from 2002 with boring wash..
With some bleach and ecocolour the whole family are now in Woodstock mood..
My new favourite with high waisted monki shorts
Coolest cats on the block!
And in Sweden it´s snowing… two more days of sun!!
Here we are, Puerto Santiago the south part of Tenerife. When you here Tenerife most people think low budget all-inclusive crappy hotels, watery Sangria and drunk middleage Englishmen, and it´s all true, but we have fund a nice little spot where you still can feel some of that old Canarian flavour. Where the Canarians still sits in front of there small houses sharing gossips with their neighbours and bragging about who cached the biggest fish. The small porto with it´s wooden boats and suntanned fishermen. We come here to wind down, stay together, play Uno (ten times a day) eat a lot of grilled fish with papas and mojo and take long walks along the sea. Very, very simple. The kids loves to come back here year after year, and it is nice to be back and slip in to your old favourite dresses and shoes, and not care at all how you look, feel free to walk around in nightgown all day long!! We don´t have wifi, tried to have it installed now for three days, mañana, mañana….
We´ll see tomorrow!
I´m not really into budget airlines but right now i´m on Norwegian air and they have free wifi, pretty amazing!
Direct Copenhagen- Tenerife, 5 hours and ten minuets fight to reach our vacation house, the whole family are aboard.
Little princess is sleeping her beauty sleep and the boys are watching a film, very nice and quiet. Packed a huge goody bag for the kids (and me) full of fruit and Renée Voltairs berry boost and chocolat hazelnuts, super jummie!
Yet no accidents… no wet pants, and only happy faces!
it´s not that bad to travel with small kids 😉

Discovered the flea markets around Popincourt: a “square of the brokers’ where you can find everything from lamps, objects, clothes, dishes , tables, country furniture, craft and posters
Charmy and impossible to pronounce, Alasinglinglin at Rue Tornaux
Such a great shop with a lot of fun stuff. I bought the school poster from the 60´s in the back for Cleo´s room
Around the corner there is a place called brocanterecycling where i found some great lamps and curious art works
Not to miss Atelier 154
The Atelier 154 is hidden at the back of a grassy paved alley, in the center of the 11th arrondissement. Step inside and leave the city and its plywood behind you. Stéphane Quatresous, the man in charge, takes you for a tour of the showroom. He’s the one who works the metal, the uncut wood and knows industrial furniture by heart: large metal tables and shelves just out of ancient factories, old schoolhouse chairs. LOVE!
Next trip I will book over the weekend so there will be a trip to the
most famous flea market in Paris at Porte de Clignancourt, officially called Les Puces de Saint-Ouen, but known to everyone as Les Puces (The Fleas). It covers seven hectares and is the largest antique market in the world, here I´m sure I will find a lot of the things i need for the new house!!
This Swedish wonderful childrean’s party book “Alla balla kalas” (all the cool party´s in English) is a collaboration between Isabelle McAllister, Christina Breeze Le Guellaff, Ann Söderlund and ICA. with photos by Jenny Brandt (dosfamily.com) and Erik Josjö.
Really inspiring photos and easy and fun ideas!
When we were living in Italy the kids birthday Party´s were all over the top… who had the most fabulous cake, how many rental ponies and which Mum had the most fabulous outfit? Off corse there were always professional clowns and magicians that kept the kids entertained while us the mums had champagne and finger food in a separate and calm angle of the garden!
When my niece came down to us to Rome for celebrating Milos 4 birthday she was quite shocked…. Wow, what a super party!!
She told me that one of her swedish friends from school invited the class over to his house, offered them a hotdog and a ice- popsicle then they played in garden for an hour and that was it!
But it is not always the “over the top” that is the most fun, sometimes it´s the small and intimate… the simple and easy that wins!
Yesterday it was our favourite Trulsa´s 6 year old birthday,
it was spagetthi, rawfoodcake
and lots and lots of love!
